Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany

October 2015

Living in England makes a quick visit to other parts of Europe quite easy.

I have, for a time, been impressed by the musical Billy Elliot. I thought it might be fun to see the Dutch production. Besides: the Rijksmuseum was all but closed when I wanted to go there, when in Amsterdam previously. Surely, the Rijksmuseum is a "must see", I thought to myself. (Now that I've been, I can attest: It is!)

Over-view....

23 October: Left home 7:30 am. Clear of immigration and baggage claim in Amsterdam by 13:25, local time, an hour ahead of the UK.
24- All day in Amsterdam
25- To The Hague- see Billy Elliot matinee- night at Schipol airport hotel
26- Fly, at sensible hour, to Prague. There by early afternoon
27, 28- All day in Prague
29- Easy departure via train to Berlin. There by 4pm
30, 31- All day in Berlin
1 November- Started attempt to return to UK
2 November- finally home... late afternoon... but worth this one "hiccup"!

And, in honor of its part in precipitating the trip, even though it wasn't the (sole) reason for it....

(Not my photo... from web.)

Photos from other trips:

I have done a "menu" for you of links to reports with photos on trips to other destinations. (It will open in a new window or tab.)

Overview of how photos are distributed across the website

I suspect that the main attraction for you, Dear Reader, of this site is the photos. But I hope that some of the text, putting them in context, will be of interest too.

I want to make it easy for you to "look at the pictures"... without too much repetition of specific images.

So here's the plan....

Most pages will be to give each photo one "moment in the sun".

So... if you visit just the following, you should see all the photos on offer. I hope that the correspondence between the site's organization and the trip's elements makes sense to you.

Pages where a photo makes its primary appearance....

Where there is a sub-page for a city, that will be where you find most of the material on the sub-topic. I will try to remember to give you links to the sub-pages within the city's page, too.

When you click on any of these, the page will open in a new tab or window... just close that to get back here.

May you use photos from this site? Want to contact me?

If you find yourself wanting to use a photo on this site, please see my page about using web-published material which is copyright TK Boyd. If you want to contact me, here's my eddress, or you can use the contact form. (Email best, as the contact form is often abused, and I don't read all messages arriving that way.) Corrections to bad information on the pages very welcome... don't be shy!

Valid HTML 4.01 Transitional Page WILL BE been tested for compliance with INDUSTRY (not MS-only) standards, using the free, publicly accessible validator at validator.w3.org. Mostly passes. There were two "unknown attributes" in Google Translate and Google+ button code. Sigh.
