Inscription from 600 BC. About two inches high. At Delos, statue platform.

Events of the day:

Dawn: Arrive Istanbul. Spice Bazaar. Topkapi Palace. Sehzade (Prince's) Mosque. Introduction to Islam. (TKB "off piste" in afternoon). Dinner at Ceylan (pronouced "jay-lan") for some, others out on town. (We had one Jaylan dinner provided, byt could choose which night to use it.)

The Suleymaniye Mosque, visited independently by me, gets its own page. As does the New Mosque, which, while we didn't "visit" it as such, we passed close to many times, near the spice market, near the southern end of the Galata bridge across the mouth of the Golden Horn.

Above: just one of many similar displays on one of many different categories of stall. Here's the thing I don't understand.... In England and the US, for all their vaunted "development", we don't get the same choice. There are two or three food stores, and you can buy what they deign to offer.
