"New" is a relative term. Construction of the mosque began in 1597. The start didn't go well, was something of a false start... but construction was eventually completed in 1663... so... after the Mayflower. "New".
We didn't visit the inside, but we passed it many times... it is at the southern end of the Galata Bridge, to the old part of town, near the spice market.

Don't forget... this page is just a "dumping spot" for images on their way to a "final home". Go back to the main page for my tour with Tauck, Athens to Istanbul, for other "dumping spot" pages, and, eventually, "proper" pages for the different parts of the trip.
