Regarding any wish you may have to use my photos

Can you use my photos for your own purposes?

Yes... you can. I hope you are also wondering if you may.

For what it is worth, I assert copyright in the materials I post on the internet... apart from things which I have used by permission of the copyright owner, or things already released into the public domain.

"For what it is worth...". Not much, as any sensible person understands.

However, if you are an honorable person, I hope that if you choose to use something I have published, you will at least give me credit for it. A link to http://sheepdogsoftware.co.uk would be particularly welcome, and if you are feeling really generous, a mention of the freeware and shareware for Windows I offer would be a very welcome bonus. The home page for that is at http://www.arunet.co.uk/tkboyd/offers.htm, aka http://tinyurl.com/SheepdogOffers

Most of the photos I have on the web are there in a lower resolution than my "master copies". If you just harvest the photo from one of my pages, you will not have it in the best possible resolution. If you want a higher quality copy of one of the images for some reason, do feel free to contact me... but explain in your initial contact why I would want to dig out the photo, etc. And tell me the page it comes from, and the photo's ID. (For Windows users, right click on it, click View Image Info).

Why would I want to dig out the photo? If, say, you are the organizer of a trip I enjoyed, and you wanted to use the photo in publicity materials, I might well feel "They helped me; I'll help them." If you are a reasonably competent charity or educational institution, I might be willing to help. If you want to pay for a non-exclusive license to use the photos, I might be willing to help. Etc.
