Going to Fes? Have lots of money, or good willpower? In the medina, 4 Riad Jouha Sagha, tel. 06 6782 2079, is "Maimonid's House"... a museum to an important historical figure. I think if you ask for it people may know it. However.... I'm not saying go there! If you get to in front of the door, facing it, as in the photo, then to your left, about 15 meters along the steet, in sight from Maimonid's door is a modest looking entrance to... a treasure house!

And the treasures are for sale. Some would call it an antiques shop. I don't think that does it justice. Don't go to Fez medina without seeking this place out... unless you have limited willpower.

On the left: For my dentist, and the team in his office: These dried bits of plants are the local toothpicks, complete with "dispenser". Each, including the bit of stem, is about 12cm long. You just break off one flower and stalk when you need a toothpick. And, so the seller (if not the FDA) claims, the plant has medicinal properties and chemicals from it will be good for your gum, too. Look out, WaterPik...
