Departures... (from 3am get up, for some), journeys home, for many.

View from my hotel room window... really! This was the view to the right. Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, in that order, prominent.

This was the view on my last morning. Good every day, but had best light for photography that morning.

Sadly, the many northbound ships awaiting pilots, south of Istanbul, don't show, or had to be airbrushed, as they just looked like blemishes. The Turkish flag really was in the photo as you see it. (I haven't again been using PhotoPlus (from Serif... my prefered alternative to Photoshop.) to make something better than the raw photo!... well, not to add the flag, anyway. This photo? About half an hour's work to deal with exposure, color balance, dust in camera, etc.)

These pages written on an "old fashioned", non- widescreen system. It may enhance your enjoyment to view the pages in a window that doesn't use the full width of a widescreen display.
